SAFEGUARDING POLICIES
Safeguarding Officer - Jo Colby
As a Clubmark and Focus Club, OD CUACO has implemented the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) “Safe Hands – Children’s Policy for Safeguarding Children” and all of OD CUACO’s Welfare Policies can be found below.

OD Cuaco has a strict safety culture for any activities arranged by the club, especially when involving children. We ensure anyone in regulated activity has a current DBS certificate. Our appointed Safeguarding Office is Jo Colby. Please contact her if you have any concerns about anything you see or hear at the club or regarding any person, whether junior or senior. Please update the email link to put her email above in (replacing her personal email).
OD Cuaco CC is committed to prioritising the well-being of all members promoting safeguarding in our Club at all times. We have a number of policies showing how we run the club and what we expect of members and visitors. In particular we strive to minimise risk, deliver a positive cricketing experience for everyone and respond appropriately to all safeguarding concerns.
A full list of our clubs policies can be viewed below. Each policy can be accessed by clicking the blue link.

Safeguarding & Policies
We are delighted to announce that we again achieved Clubmark Accreditation in 2024. Congratulations to all our coaches and volunteers for this achievement. Having a network of safe, family friendly and well organised clubs is vital for the future of the game and achieving Clubmark status shows we are at the forefront of this.
What is Clubmark
Clubmark is the only national cross sports quality accreditation scheme for clubs with junior sections. It is built around a set of core criteria which ensure that accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards. Sport England recognises and values the commitment made by sports clubs to develop high quality, welcoming environments for young participants. The development of clubs that encourage young people to take-up sport, improve their talents and give them the option to initiate and maintain life-long participation in sport is an essential part of our work to support the sporting infrastructure in England.
OD Cuaco CC gained Clubmark accreditation in September 2009 and became a Focus Club Community Cluster in November 2009. The Focus Club nomination gives us additional responsibilities for encouraging cricket in the local area especially with local schools. As part of this we have built a partnership with Langley Park Boys School to share facilities and provide opportunities for mutual benefit. This partnership will continue to evolve over the coming years.
One of the main commitments with Clubmark is that OD Cuaco cricket club demonstrates that it is a safe place for young people to enjoy cricket. Part of this demonstration is the commitment and adherence to a set of policies designed to make sure that young cricketers are able to develop in a safe and protective environment. The following documents explain our policies in this respect and are on display in the clubhouse throughout the cricket season. We have included downloadable copies below for access anywhere.
